ABOUT US
Welcome to the West Missouri District
An Optimist Club is a voluntary organization of civic-minded men and women banded together for progressive thought and action in community service. The Mission Statement of Optimist International is "By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in kids." Membership is composed of citizens drawn from all walks of life and includes people who work in business, industry, agriculture and the professions. Members are motivated by the desire to contribute to the community from which they and their families draw daily benefits. There is no greater opportunity for participation in community affairs and service than in an Optimist club.
On the Website Menu, click on the Programs link to view the projects that are run in many communities in West Missouri. Thousands of youth across the state are helped by these projects and programs, and many programs are so unique they have become the signature trademark of these clubs.
On the Districts/Clubs page are the all of the Districts/Clubs in Optimist International. The West Missouri District is district 36. Club information including meeting places and meeting times along with the club presidents name are included . Carefully read The Optimist Creed. The creed is spoken at the conclusion of local, zone, region and district meetings and helps the members strive to keep a positive attitude and balance in their daily lives.
Optimism is a way of life for those that have "seized the moment" and became Optimist club members. The Optimist motto is "Friend of Youth." Optimists tout themselves as being in the "kids business." The average club member can serve approximately thirty youth in the community. The more club members...the more youth served.
